Getting to spend time in The Big Apple is always fun, but getting to spend time there at Christmastime is beyond compare! Not only did I get to celebrate the season in style, but so did two of my friends and fellow artists.
Two talented artists working through our agency played witness to the American holiday tradition that is the lighting of the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree while drawing at an event hosted by American Express for its VIP members. Overlooking the Plaza from several stories up, the artists drew for the AmEx members while they celebrated the season in true New York style.
I also celebrated the season with class while I sketched at a private party at the beautiful 48 Lounge in Manhattan. A lovely couple, Ellen and Ernie, asked me to come and help them ring in the Christmas season with my digital caricatures. For the 3 hour soiree, my sketch of Ellen and Ernie was projected on a wall, giving my art a showcase spot. What a thrill!
Happy Holidays and Thank you American Express, Ernie and Ellen, and 48 Lounge for giving us the chance to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in a way that can only be done in The Center of the Universe!
