Anyone Up For Overtime

Have you ever heard the old adage “if you love your job, you’ll never have to work a day in your life”? Even on my busiest days, I can still say that it’s true. This past weekend, I was at two events in one day. First, I had to make the short trip from home to the Manheim Township Community Park to draw traditional caricatures at a company picnic for Image First. A caricature agency, Goofy Faces, hired me to entertain for the early arriving guests from 9 in the morning to noon. It was a great way for the attendees to have some fun in the morning and enjoy the summer sun.

After wrapping up in Manheim Township, I only had a few hours to spare before I had to head down over the Pennsylvania-Maryland border to Emmitsburg and Mount Saint Mary’s University. The University hosted their annual Freshman welcome night, this year’s theme was “AMP,” from 9 PM to midnight. I drew caricatures for some of the 500+ incoming freshmen while they acquainted themselves with the university and enjoyed games, activities, and a rock band performance.
