The Annual Materials Research Society Conference in Boston is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the most fun party of the year! Scott, my husband, came along this year for a chance to get away while I worked. Boston is such a diverse and interesting city that we never had a moment’s rest during our stay – there was just too much to see and experience. Despite the cold wind and rain that plagued our trip, we still had the times of our lives.
The MRS conference is an enormous, multi-day event that brings together representatives from companies and organizations from all over the world. The attendees definitely loved having me there to entertain them with Live Digital Caricatures. I drew for 3 days, and the throngs of people waiting to sit down for me seemed never-ending. Several people even made it a point to tell me how they liked my style. It was a really great time.
When I wasn’t drawing at the MRS, Scott and I tried our best to take advantage of everything Boston has to offer. From dining at an authentic Japanese BBQ, called Gyu-Kaku, where we cooked our own meat and fish, to meeting up with a friend and former classmate, to riding the T to Summer St. for lunch at Central Bistro, we were constantly on the move.
