Students have an amazing opportunity in today’s world to learn with so much more information at their fingertips. Through the internet, they can research live events as they happen. And like the Library of Alexandria (before the fire), they have the world’s books at their fingertips.
This digital classroom also allows the unique opportunity to create an interactive learning experience for various classes.
I was again brought in to a school as part of their Artist in Resident program, funded by their local Council for the Arts. As I have written in the past, my program consists of teaching the merging world of art and technology.
This program includes setting up my Live Digital Caricature setup for everyone to see and using it as a highly interactive canvas to illustrate the syllabus.
Of course, what art program would be complete without the requisite drawing of a few faces? After the first part of the program is complete, I move into the ‘real world’ application of what they learned by drawing several of the students.
As you can see, they had a blast!
