Bourbon-Street

This is my 2nd visit to New Orleans for another trade show and it happened to be the largest trade show (HIMSS 2013) I have ever been brought in to draw my live digital caricatures for a company involved with healthcare.

Naturally, working at a trade show this large (a mile long), one is bound to run into one or more colleagues. Lo and behold, there were 3 others, Doug Shannon, Al Rod and Zach Trenholm. I had a chance to eat lunch and chat with these other talented artists.

I invited my mother-in-law to come along so she can visit and tour the sites of this fun city. We ate at many nice restaurants, to include the “Court of Two Sisters,” and tried many of the southern dishes like crawfish, red beans on rice, bread pudding, catfish and more.

One of my latest and favorite of foods on the menu, along with being my first time ever to eat this, was the chargrilled oysters. They are not much to look at, though they are very tasty and full of rich vitamins. And of course we had the famous beignet (desert, similar to donuts with powdered sugar), more than once. 🙂

Four days of eating, drawing, site seeing, I was ready to return home and catch up on other work waiting for my arrival.

Below are a few individuals who really enjoyed having their image turned into my cartoon style to use as a fun avatar on many of the popular sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and more.
