When Apple announced the iPad at the beginning of the year, my husband and I knew immediately that this was going to be a device that would change how people use computers. We both blogged about it at the time and waited until it’s release.
The iPad is many things to many people. For artists, it has the potential to be a digital canvas that can be carried around all the time.
On Saturday, I drew my first iPad Caricatures at the device’s launch. After I posted pictures here and on Facebook, I was swarmed with emails, Facebook messages, and phone calls, about what it’s like and how well it works.
Well, I plan on writing a very in depth tutorial/review for a publication (can’t talk about that right now). This will go into deeper comparisons between the iPad and Cintiq, comparisons of brushes, and so on.
But in the meantime, I thought I’d do a quick demonstration of what I did at the iPad’s launch. Keep in mind that I’ve still only had this brand new tool for a few days.
Let me know what you think!
P.S. No, I’m not selling my Cintiq just yet! I see this as an ADDITION to, not a replacement for, the Cintiq. But I’m going to LOVE drawing with the iPad and I think it’s going to a runaway hit with artists.
