Before I blog about my many jobs this past week, I wanted to get personal again about something very special.
Over the past year, Scott and I have been fortunate enough to have several wonderful opportunities present themselves to us.
Perhaps one of the largest was the opportunity for us to purchase a new home.
For years, Scott and I dreamt to live in an older colonial or victorian home. We searched for a few months and found many common issues. Once we hear news about a sump pump, we do not want to tour the house! We also found many features we loved in these houses, like good working fireplaces, along with strong foundations.
After much searching and after our home (a nice lake view house in a secured community called Lake Wynonah), we found our colonial home!
It was built in 1870 and had a large barn and summer kitchen in the back. The barn, sadly, came down several decades ago. But the home itself was recently fully renovated by a contractor in the months prior to us moving in.
Below are a few photos of my new home. I’m slowly painting the blank canvas of every room and closet, and decorating my home with antiques, old lithographs and paintings and a touch of my known eclectic style. I’m really looking forward to seeing the progress over the next several years. We even have the original wooden shutters to sand, paint and place back on the outside windows.
This house is much larger than my last home and now, with the summer kitchen next to our home, we have another opportunity to renovate it into something special.
This summer kitchen will eventually be Scott and my studio and store. Yes, I’m thinking of having a future store of my own and I look forward to my endless possibilities.
I really love my new home and I am enjoying meeting new neighbors, working out at my new gym and being closer to jobs and more!
