I recently surprised my mother-in-law with a digital painting of her 2 sons, Scott (my husband) and Sean.

It took me several hours to draw, paint with digital oils, and coordinate the composition nicely with just the right color painted background in Painter 11. I drew each from a different photo, both with different sets of lighting within the photo. I was a bit worried about this lighting with each individual painting would come together, however, I believe I made it work.

I think I could have worked on Sean to bring him out a little bit more, but my husband told me to abandon my art so he could frame it and wrap it.

AND, I surprised Scott’s Aunt Lolly with a charcoal drawing of her 2 kids on parchment paper and using soft charcoal pencils (not digital)
