I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

In the spirit of giving, I thought I’d share something that I’ve been using for quite awhile that other caricature artists could use for advertising and promoting what we do: a digital picture frame.

I first started using one last year when I wanted to add something extra to the ‘show’ when I perform my Live Digital entertainment, but then realized this would make an excellent addition to my regular easel caricature gigs.

These digital frames take USB sticks, as well as memory cards from pretty much any digital camera and can play back both video files as movies and also pictures in a slide show.

Years ago, I often had a sign that I used to tell how long I would be working and other things. So I interjected this info into the slide show, along with a few humorous things drawn in my cartoon style.

It also acted as advertisement for my Live Digital Caricature entertainment or, if I am there through an agent, their contact info. It’s so easy to change this content on the digital picture frame (just drag some files onto a USB drive and I’m done!).

This one is my second frame (my first was a $300 frame that was something like 12 inches across). My current one is smaller, but looks very sleek on the stand I have for it, and also keeps people in the line entertained.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
