It looks like I’m past due to blog about my events this past week. I’ve been extremely busy with my art work lately.

Last week, I spent a few days in Austin, Texas entertaining at a trade show booth with my iPad digital caricatures. Many guests were excited to sit in my client’s booth and have a fun cartoon designed to use as a twitter avatar and more.

Another unexpected surprise at my event was to sit in and listen to Billy Beane’s presentation. Billy Beane is a former Major League Baseball player and the current general manager and minority owner of the Oakland Athletics. Beane has applied statistical analysis to players, known as sabermetrics, which has led all teams to reconsider how they evaluate players. He is the subject of Michael Lewis’ 2003 book on baseball economics, Moneyball, which was made into a 2011 film starring Brad Pitt as Beane.

I was very fortunate to have watched the movie, Moneyball, before I visited Austin, Texas to watch Billy Beane’s stage presentation.

I took a small amount of photos and I found time to draw a dog into my iPad cartoon style. 🙂
