February 2010 Winner of my FFFF!

Posted on February 22, 2010

Paul Pelak, from Florida was my February winner for a digital cartoon creation as my Featured Favorite Facebook Fan.

Paul is a director of the Academy of Design Tampa Alum. With the help of some of his talented friends, he runs the very best place any individual can learn to become a professional photographer anywhere in North America. He and his friends love what they do and nobody does it better.

Update: Message from Paul!!!!
They look absolutely fabulous, Hon. My staff & students are really impressed with the way you captured me; and I love the retro style (how did you know).

Psst, “they” meaning I sent a few files to Paul with and without the black box, and sexy smoke, along with a file that can be used for websites without having that white background.

Please click on my Facebook Fan page (to the right of my blog) and become a fan. You too can be a winner for a FREE digital cartoon!

I have over 700 fans! Thank you!!!!

International Society of Caricature Artists!

Posted on February 21, 2010

My husband, Scott, (an extremely talented video creator) attended the ISCA convention with me in Sandusky, Ohio last November 2009. During the convention, he went around and interviewed and taped many of the great wall art and pieces, artists, classes, competitions, banquet and more at our annual caricature convention.

He recently created a promotional video for the ISCA website. Many artists are raving over this video, including me. Excellent job Scott!

Please take the time to watch the video.

If you are looking for your own promotional video, feel free to contact Scott at 570-449-3043 or email Scott at Sullivan@digitalblacksmiths.com

Digital Cartoon for Client!

Posted on February 18, 2010

I recently designed this cartoon for a client of mine to make invitations and other personal prints.

Digital cartoons are designed by my hand (the artist) utilizing my 21″ cintiq touch screen tablet and stylus pen, and drawn into an art software program, such as Painter and Photoshop. This design was created and finished in Painter 11.

These digital designs are a much better and cleaner way to use for websites and other prints, rather than scanning original art and cleaning up all the line work in a computer art software.
