It was a fun VIP day!

I actually drew my first RAT, but I’m sad to say I “goofed” with this drawing. I meant to draw his snoot to a point.
I guess I was thinking “dog” on my mind, since I draw so many dogs at these events. Also speed is an issue.
I never held a real rat, especially a pet rat, and this bugger had me quite curious about looking into owning one!
I heard they are very smart pets! This one was adorable with his funky guitar T-shirt!

post Greyhound day along with U-Ville Prom

May 18th, 2008

Here are a few pics from my Greyhound drawing event(Pet Cartoons). I couldn’t have been more happy to work for this client. She was very thoughtful, giving and always came by to check on me.

And from greyhound to graveyard. After this gig, I worked the ‘graveyard shift’ at a post prom event at Unionville High School. This was the third year in a row they requested me. They have plenty of entertainment for the students, which just makes it an energetic event, which you sort of need at 3 am!

What was also great was working with my friend Emily Anthony again. You can check out some of the pictures she took on her blog: Emily’s Sketchblog

I knocked out quite a few interesting and funny cartoon characters! But instead of more of my pictures, I managed to take a few shots of this famous magician working his amazing magic talent that evening. ~wink~ (For those who don’t know, he’s my husband!!!)

I felt bad for Scott, because he’s wrapping post-production on a three volume DVD set that’s being distributed across the States and Europe and the gold master is going out Monday. He is an editor at Reels in Motion Visual Effects Studio, a company he started several years ago, in addition to freelance work he does for several other production companies.

So as you can image, there are all the last minute checks and approvals going on with the client and is already a few nights behind on sleep. But he had a blast performing last night and they’ve already requested us both for next year! Here’s a few pics!

post Pet Expo Event- Drawing Woofers!

I really want and need to work on the “bulging eye” effect with those type of dogs.
Even though I did a good job and the clients loved their drawings, I felt “Not up to my best” on this event. Not sure if it had to do with weather or me!
Oh well, every artist has days like this!

Although… the line kept growing as I surprisingly heard another person whisper behind me “She’s really good!” I heard the word “Disney” (again), and about 3 times, so not sure what people were saying about me this time.

All I can say is I keep getting the work, so I must be doing something right! ~wink~

Well, today I worked at a fundraiser and took many photos to find out that I did NOT have my camera card set properly! Bummer!
So, I came home and finished a hand drawn studio cartoon order of Pete!

Quite a busy weekend at a ball park and Pet store. Lines became long, so I worked quickly and only had time for a few pics. I didn’t even have time to put dogs in some photos above.

post ANOTHER Petco Night!

I actually had owners wanted to be drawn with their pet(s) this time, which is fine by me, since I love to draw people and pets (anything really!)into cartoons! This was Friday evening, so I’m late on my posting. (had a VERY busy weekend)

I had to do a blow up of the ferret in drawing above, since you could hardly see him in the full pose photo. I LOVE ferrets and was thrilled to have my first “LIVE” fuzzy pose for me. Petco let me hold a few of the ferrets in store. I was tempted to take one home. It was a tough call, but I left him there to play with his playmates!

This is like the 5th or 6th time I’ve had a person say my style is very “Disney,” which is by far a great compliment! Thank YOU!
