post Live Digital Caricatures and Cartoons at Google!!!

August 23rd, 2008

Well, we just got back from Google! Scott and I were flown out to Google for my Live Digital Caricatures.

After setting up, we snapped a few pictures and talked with the other caricature artist, Doug, while enjoying the weather and coffee (I think Scott enjoyed the coffee a bit more than I did!) Once the crowd started to arrive, I powered back up and was off to work! Doug and I knew it would be a busy evening. We were told there would be around 7,000 attending!

During the gig, Scott also took some pictures of the event.

It was a great gig and we both were very thankful for Google flying us and hiring us for this gig. The client really loved my cartoon style and custom theme I designed for them. Between that and the digital setup, it was a perfect match.

The California weather was very nice for the majority of the day. As the evening crept up, the temperature sank and the breeze picked up a little, so I had to throw on a jacket!

We setup my 21″ Cintiq to the 60″ plasma display for the crowd to watch. So many of their designers kept asking about the Cintiq. As Scott and I discussed it with them, I think we sold many of them into buying one of their own!

After the gig, and catching a night of rest at the hotel, we spent some time taking in San Francisco. Scott posted several of the San Francisco pictures on his Flickr page along with the pictures below.

By the way, the astute of you may have noticed the design on the t-shirts that the Google employees had on matched the caricature I did in the last post before leaving for the gig. That color gradient grid was part of their ‘theme’ and is included on the poster in front of my digital setup.

post Company Picnic at the ballpark!

August 15th, 2008

Filed under: Live Party Caricatures, event, event caricatures, live events — Angie @ 10:14 pm

I was hired another year for this company picnic, but this time the company hired 2 artists, so I had the chance to work with my good friend Emily. Unfortunately, there was not much room for our equipment, so we had to separate in order to draw the crowd. :)
Here are 4 pics from tonight! This lady reminded me of the James Bond lady. (I told her and she laughed)

post It’s Rush Order for Designs!

August 8th, 2008

I had many calls for orders in these past 2 weeks. Surprisingly, I refused to do some major designs, because of the idea in relation to my style and my ways of designing my cartoons.
At times, I feel bad about declining work, and I did with one client asking me to do a big project. My husband made a bet with me that I will receive another job in 3 days. He won the bet! :)
I designed a last minute cartoon (4 person) for a client who needed this design ASAP!
Thankfully we have digital today to be able to deliver an E-file and have the client take it to the printers within a day of design. And not to mention that with an e-file, minor changes can be made at the last minute.

post Philadelphia Digital Cartoonist!

August 5th, 2008

Once again, I performed my Live Digital Caricatures and Cartoons in Philly. Scott came along to film and take some photos (and be my great tech guy). Here are a few of the photos!

ODN: After seeing these photos, I am NOW second guessing my new hair-do (perm/cut), but at least I can straighten it, too, which I’m doing from time to time! Also, as I observe “myself” I think it is time to put on new contacts and begin wearing them. Possibly losing 10 lbs will help too, but I’ve already started this! Yes, I’m picky, but I’m a girl. What can I say but….Off to the gym! :)

Here is a GREAT pic of City Hall that Scott took from our hotel room!

post New Digital Set-up photo!

August 1st, 2008

I performed several weeks ago with my live digital caricatures and my very good art friend, Missi, took this photo of me. (I have a new “doo” today, so this photo now shows my old hair-do!)

Scott was at this event taping a new video with my very own flat screen TV, stand, my little cut-out displays and my lovely polka dotted cover (thank you Stacey!). I have so many new ideas with all this-can’t wait!
Scott is a very busy guy lately, so I hope he puts my new video together very soon! He started it, but we’ll see when it finally “Airs!” :D

Also, Scott ordered the 12″ Cintiq, so he can use it for his video business and work freelance with a top company in Harrisburg.
Scott claims I not only have a back up, but I now have one for traveling to conventions, if needed.
I have a feeling we may be fighting over it! :)
