My January 2010 Featured Favorite Facebook Fan Winner!

Posted on January 25, 2010

Another winner on my Fan Page on my Facebook for the month of January.

This month’s winner is Kimberley Liem Meyers. Kim is a Director of Operations for a company that does phase 1-4 clinical trials.

I found this a hard one to illustrate, but suddenly an idea came to mind and I created a guinea pig with pills, syringe and Kim taking notes, along with a sepia tone style!

I will soon be picking my February digital cartoon winner. If you haven’t signed up on my Facebook yet, please go to

Featured Favorite Facebook Fan December!

Posted on January 1, 2010

Well, I am one day late, so I can account this cartoon to be my first cartoon design for 2010.

Teresa Nordheim, from Puyallup, Washington, was my December pick on my Facebook fan page.
She is a children’s author and illustrator and she works with children.
Therefore, I created a fun cartoony illustration to fit Teresa’s cartoon character design.

Within the next few hours, I am going to print out my new fans to ad to my fan raffle box (lol) and announce my January FREE Digital Caricature Winner.

Number 9: Beatles Gone Retro Style!

Posted on September 5, 2009

9-9-09 is nearing ever so close. And in a tribute to the one of the top selling bands of all time, I’ve created The Beatles in my Retro Digital Line Art.

This Beatles caricature was created entirely on my 21-inch Cintiq (if you’ve never seen one, it is like a souped up iPhone, minus the phone), this design strives to capture each of the fab four in classic 70′s style, as I felt I could mix the wild linework of the 70s with their personalities and my clean Retro Digital Line Art.

I love being able to create. While I sometimes go back and look at my older work so that I can improve, spending time ‘training’ myself to constantly improve, I still find it more rewarding to create new artwork instead of being stuck in the past.

Please share your thoughts on this new creation as we all celebrate the big news this week!

Update: Well, no Beatles on iTunes, but plenty of Remastered Beatles albums out. And thanks everyone for so many numerous complimentary comments on the Beatles cartoon design.

My August Facebook Digital Caricature Winner!

Posted on August 15, 2009

Sharla Sanders, from Alabama, was picked at the end of July as my
“Featured Favorite Facebook Fan” Winner for August. I had just posted her
digital cartoon on my Facebook Digital Caricature Page.

Sharla mentioned she loves dancing and salsa was one of her favorites on her list, so I decided to go this route and create a fun cartoon for her.

Think of all the things you can do with a digital cartoon (logo avatar, email signature, posters, t-shirts, invitations, Christmas cards and more)
Enjoy Sharla and thanks!
