Zax & Pati – A Special Holiday Gift!

Posted on December 30, 2009

I am having 2 special guests visit my home tonight and I created a fun present for them.

My friends Zach (I call him Zax) who will one day be a caricaturist like me, and his mother Pati, who is close to my age and we have a lot in common. (We both LOVE to exercise and we eat the same food/snacks, AND our birthdays are the same day, would you believe? Too Kewl)

I can’t wait until they get here. Here are 2 cartoons for their surprise!
One of them together

And one framed for Zax!

We are going to have fun putting them onto a T-shirt or mouse pad with my Industrial press.

Update: I received the coolest gift ever and it’s a caricature of me…ON A RUG!
Take a look! Zax drew a simple drawing of me and Pati created the rug, which takes time and patience.
Thanks so much Pati/Zax! Happy New Year!

I added Shannon into the family scene- :)

Group Caricature – 12 people

Posted on October 30, 2009

A few weeks ago, I received a big order for a 12 person hunting/fishing design for a company calendar.

Even though it is difficult to create many into one drawing and keep a nice balanced composition, I, however, love the challenge of creating these group caricatures.

I was very fortunate that my client had asked me to make it a hunting and fishing theme, sent close up head shots of everyone and left the design up to me. I finally finished it! Thank you Tony!

Excitement at the Buckingham Palace!(I mean Place)

Posted on October 18, 2009

Mr Buckingham invited me to entertain and draw for his small social group on his farm this afternoon.
His farm looked like a palace with all his past 10 years of construction and renovation, along with his wife’s touch for decoration and accessories.

The small children gathered around me to have a caricature and afterwards, they immediately headed for the Wii station, and then out to the chicken house to pet the chickens. Next, the big kids decided to take their turn in my chair for some cartoons & giggles.

I ended with drawing the 2 pet dogs, Delilah and emma (2 rescue pups).
I almost took them home with me.

It was a nice get-together at the Buckingham palace.
Thank you for having me!

Digital Cartoon Order #2

Posted on September 29, 2009

My client ordered a bowling caricature for his friend a few months ago and loved it. He returned to have another, but this time for himself.

It’s not easy to fit everything a person does in life into one drawing, and I did my best to do this for him. Thanks Travis!
