post Speaking of Parks!

My son and I took a mini trip to King’s Dominion in Virginia, and then Washington DC the next day..
At least the rain did not stop us and we had a wild time riding the high accelerating rides, like the Volcano (my favorite).

At our usual Cracker Barrel breakfast, JT and I compete with the Peg Game. The object to this game is to have the least number of pegs remaining and one of us has always made it to the “1″ peg left position.

Well, Ninny me, actually broke a record and had 7 remaining pegs. JT just HAD to take my photo with my world breaking record for the most pegs standing. LOL!

post Hershey Park Photos!

My son and I enjoyed the day at Hershey Park for their Springtime opening!
JT took this photo, while coming out of a tunnel on the Sooper Dooper Looper,
and since the camera hit daylight so quickly, the photo overexposed.
We both thought the photo was really cool.
Also, JT took this other photo. He has such a good eye for photography!

My son talked me into going to Dorney Park for the evening, and I’m glad I made time to do this! It was a great dose of medicine for me! I even made time to have another caricaturist, Chris Chua, go crazy on a very Cool caricature of me! Thanks Chris!

post My Son’s B-day!

I actually made plans for this special day (July 14th) and had to refuse any drawing events to enjoy my son’s 20th year celebration! We (Jt and I) made plans and went north of the mountain (Poconos) on a “The Great Train Robbery” ride in the town of Honesdale, Pa!
This was a 3.5 hour ride full of laughter and adventure, Mexicans trying to find the money on train, etc. while pulling into the town of Hawley, where my son and I decided to grab lunch at a FABULOUS Bistro named Torte Knox!
Later, we had planned to stay in a B&B place, but our plans fell thru (mainly because the owner of ranch “forgot” about our reservations and arrival time),so we stayed at a Radisson Hotel and enjoyed the rest of our evening plans. As you can see, we took other goofy fun photos.

Also, on the long ride north, I HAD to stop and take photos of the windfarm on the mountains. (it’s hard to see, but they are in the one photo above - click to make bigger) At my FT job, during day, at Engineer firm, I am currently drafting windfarm plans on the mountains in our local area, so seeing this was very exciting for me. I HAD to pull over and take photos, as my son complained! :)

What a fun weekend! It’s not often I take time off to enjoy…LIFE!!

post TAG! Your it!

May 21st, 2007

I have been “tagged” by

  • Dave
  • , so here I am, offering seven random facts about myself. Here are the rules of the game for those I tagged.

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to choose four people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they have been tagged and to read your blog!

Here are my Seven Random Facts.

1- I am a very honest person! I may have told a white lie or 2 like everyone else has, but I tend to be too honest that I end up in trouble or I put my foot in my mouth. I guess sometimes the truth hurts!

2- I have a problem with always bettering myself at everything I do or TRY to do and I won’t quit!!! I never had or have a problem with other competition. I ONLY compete with myself and I love it! Other competitors may push me into trying harder, but I can only thank them for doing so and strive to work harder, but love the results when I succeed in bettering myself!

3- I joined the military (Army) and served full time for 2 years, and 2 years reserve! And I don’t REGRET it! What an experience and I think everyone should try this! I lived in Japan for a year (WOW! What a place to experience!), and Texas and NC!

4- I was a single parent, with one son, from the time he was 2 years old, until he was 17 yrs old. I am very close to my son and struggled, throughout those years, to place myself through full-time school, working a full-time 2nd shift job, reserves once a month and taking care of my son, to accomplish a life style I wanted for the both of us. I even purchased my own house/ extra lot (in a secured development) with my own savings and credit!

5- I’m a giver and a care-taker, so I have a soft heart for the needy, love animals and babies. I tend to take care of matters, TRY and fix things (if broken) or would go out of my way to help a person. It’s very hard for me to accept gifts.

6- I grew up with a tight relationship to my talented father,

  • Bob
  • , who’s band came very close to fame. Unfortunately, I lost my best friend in 1993, because of his alcohol addiction. I was told, by my Uncle, that I am much like my father on how he excelled in every talent he had, and had many. I am NOT an alcoholic, thankfully, but a workaholic and I LIKE, no… LOVE, to keep busy! I continue to think of my father as a “hero,” for teaching me many things throughout my life! I sure miss him!

7- I dated many to find out that beauty is “truly” within. My husband is a home run and I wouldn’t trade him in for the world! (And he’s so CUTE!) He helps me to be a better person and wants me to stand for what I believe in! He believes in me! :)
