Caricatures on T-shirts!

Posted on September 3, 2009

Yesterday was a great sunny and cool day at a University located north where the beautiful huge mountains of PA can be found.

I was requested to draw caricatures in my black and white style onto T-shirts for the students.

I have drawn on t-shirts many times before, but this time I found a very reliable marker that works well with material (t-shirts) AND after drawing a few “heads only,” I decided to test the waters with drawing my full body cartoons. Would you believe I was drawing one full person INTO A CARTOON on a t-shirt in matter of 5 minutes? That includes placing the t-shirt on my board and clipping it down! I actually surprised myself with my speed and keeping decent and clean line quality, while drawing on t-shirts.
Thank you Steve and Andee! Thanks Andee for taking these pics for me and arranging the T-shirts!

Also, I had the pleasure of meeting for first time AND drawing next to Chip Mock, a fun cartoony style caricaturist! Together, we had many students laughing and having a good time.

Here are a few pics, including first two of Chip and his fun art work!
