Screencast Digital Painting of Van Gogh!

Posted on July 30, 2009

Another art study project in Corel Painter Magazine Issue #32.

Scott put this movie together, however, you will find the beginning part a bit choppy. Something happened to my 1st screen play, so Scott put a few slide shows of my screen shots to replace the missing part.
With my Van Gogh caricature, I was trying a NEW paint tool (Pastels) and you will notice many trials, errors and decisions throughout my video.
I do not mind showing all the revisions and decisions of an artist, so I hope you enjoy this one!

Go Eagles!

Posted on July 30, 2009

I recently drew caricatures for an Eagles event with my artist friends, Pat, John and Joe.
I always have fun when there are more artists working at an event together.
I didn’t feel my best with my art that night (as many artists feel at times- it just happens), but John disagreed with me. My clients were very happy with my results and that’s what counts.
Here are a few pics.

Idol #7 Winner and their Cartoon Characters!

Posted on July 27, 2009

I have been a judge for 6 teen idol shows and tonight was the end of our 7th idol show.
Once again, I created cartoons for all 3 contestants who did an EXCELLENT job with their vocals this summer! Bravo!

The winner was Zachary Sheib, who did an AWESOME job with all his songs and performances, especially MY FAVORITE, Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are.”
Tom Franko, with his witty charm and broadwayish vocals and Jessica Moser who could blow away so many wannabees with her Janis Joplin version of Bobby McGee!

Congrats to all 3 of you and Best of Luck with your future with singing!

Hello Kitty 1st Birthday Party!

Posted on July 26, 2009

It was Annelise’s first birthday and her mom put together a “Hello Kitty” birthday party.
I decided to design a frame for her theme before I arrived and they loved it!

There were many guests with new babies and toddlers playing on the backyard swingset!
The guests really enjoyed having a cartoon artist to entertain and draw their kids into a Saturday morning cartoon style.

Happy Birthday Annalise and many thanks Bridgit!
