This family party I appeared at yesterday, were extremely nice people and gathered all around me, (within their tight family room), to watch me draw the kids, and later the adults. The guy above was the husband and his wife, who hired me, said she was surprised her husband even wanted a caricature done!

Here is a photo taken of my Philly Artist friends, with me, at one of my annual house parties in 2003! Emily, Pat, Me & Miriam! I felt a need to create a fast sketchy cartoon of us, from this photo, in Painter!

This client said “Terrific!” and only asked me to replace the sock with a specific hat(client requested sock first) and change beer mugs to souvenir cups!

I made a “Cats” costume for me and Beth helped me with makeup again (like I said, she’s a pro with that)and my photographer (back in 80’s) took a photo of me standing on a piano bench! How cool! Other photo is me with my good friend Mary, (a friend I shared performing triathlons together-I miss you Mary!). This was taken years later from my cat photo, but Mary wore my cat costume and I wore my homemade Cavewoman outfit and won first prize with that outfit! My brother helped make a club by chainsawing a log and I rubbed shoe polish on it, but I don’t have club in this photo! Bummer!

In my younger days, my best friend, Beth and I were highly creative with our Halloween costumes (also bored! ha ha) I thought I’d post a few that we spent time creating. Here is one of me as Frank-n-Furter in Rocky Horror. Beth did my make-up! She was so great at this, plus she lives in the city and is always in the latest fashion! I always thought she should be a make-up artists or fashion artist! I will have dig into my photo album to find a photo of Beth as “Magenta.” During our college years at Kutztown Univ., we attended a Rocky Horror picture show, in our costumes, at a crowded auditorium at Millersville University and received a standing ovation! The funniest part of that evening is when we performed on stage, Beth sang her tune and leaned against the hanging screen (she thought the screen was immobile and acted the same leaning-on-post scene that Magenta did in movie) and the screen started to sway big time! Next thing you know, the film was turned off and we were chased off stage to our seats! We can laugh today about that one! What fun that was!!!

I just finished up a rush Gift order for KYW News man, Vince! I had fun doing this one and I’m trying to be more creative with the “one” photo or photos that clients are giving me and designing better layouts! Now, back to my Cintiq drawing board to move onto other tight orders!

Wow! What a photo and this handsome young man happens to be my son!! Hard to believe how much he’s grown. This happens to be one of the best photos I have seen of my son, by far! I love the way the colors of light hit his face! What can I say, but….I’m a very proud mother!

I can’t believe it, but I received a call from PSATS, this week, saying they did not know what to do with me. I said, “Er..come back again?” Apparently, I passed my probe hole soil descriptions test with very high scores, but on the written test, I missed the last 11 questions on test. Yikes! I thought there were only 26 questions and I did answer them all, but there were 37! Psats assumed that possibly my page might have been stuck together (probably with soil- ha ha) Gee, how did I miss more shitty questions? yuck yuck! Anyway, the conclusion is I have to report at PSATS in Harrisburg, at my own convenient time, to re-take the written exam over again. Heck….NO problem with THAT at all!!! Must wait again! Shucks!

Today is our 2 year Anniversary! Scott and I have been together for 9 years and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else in the world!

I drew caricatures for Ralph Lauren last night at a city Mall. (thanks Sarah!) I was a bit concerned, because the customers had to buy Ralph Lauren in order to get a “free” caricature and we all know how expensive RL can be, right? (but it’s a great product and worth it, of course) The event started slow, but rumor came around that I can draw from photos and next thing you know, I was busy drawing many kids from photos, newspaper clippings and someone even tried to get me to draw a baby sleeping from a cell phone shot(no thanks, I’ll pass!) And customers actually bought RL to have photos drawn!!
Here are 2 I shot with camera last night, but it’s hard to see the newspaper clipping of the boy I drew on left side, but I really wanted to work on cartooning my bodies much more and did. I was very excited with this one and so was my RL customer! The little girl (on right) was so adorable and posed for me without a problem. She was so thrilled, that I HAD to take a photo of her parading around with the drawing. Later on, I cartooned a pet dog from a B&W copy and I’m hoping this person will send me the photo soon for posting,(since I didn’t take a photo - forgot) but I recieved her email this morning saying….
“Hi Angie,
My name is Nicole and I am the department manager of the Infant’s Department in Boscov’s. You were at our store October 17th for the Ralph Lauren event, and I have to tell you, it was awesome having you there. Your work is absolutely amazing! You drew my Old English Sheepdog, Dudley, and my family has not stopped talking about how wonderful it is!! Thank you so much for doing the event with Ralph Lauren Childrenswear, I will definitely be telling everyone about your Pet-Toons website!!
Thanks again,
Nicole & Dudley too!!”
The manager of Boscov’s wants to bring me back! Giddy-Up!
