A great MAD artist, Tom Richmond, drew me and Scott in the April MAD issue (pg 20) in a Celebrity Poker scene. Tom surprised us at the last caricature convention with this and Scott and I have been bragging about it, since! We are Celebs now! Thanks Tom!!!!! We will figure a way to return the favor with our talents!! Here is the photo Tom drew us from and a close up of our cartoon!

This was a last minute RUSH order, (typical) and this person was mayor of a nearby city. This guy/client/mayor called my husband and told him he couldn’t believe how I got their likenesses! Yayee!
This was a gift for a person retiring, who was a big sports fan (one being Phillies, but was a coach for basketball. This is not the full drawing. I just posted him, instead of background theme behind him.

My son (19 yrs old now)and I went to Dave & Busters to have a little video game and pool ball fun! He never smiles in photos anymore, so this is the best pose I could get out of him! He is soon getting ready for another year at PS college (engineering) and finishing his year working as supervisor at Dorney Park! Awe…such a proud mother… I am…. to have a kid that turned out to be quite something!

This couple loved their drawing and couldn’t wait to take it home to show their kids. The only things I would like to do better with this one, is draw older cartoon necks and bring the couple closer in drawing (make them bigger on paper and overlapping each other) I like to look at my work, then study it to make improvements!! BACK to the drawing board, I always say!

I could’ve made this girls neck and shoulder a little thicker than I had, but I guess I made HER day!
I LOVE this one and so did he and everyone in the room!!

My mother is going to her 45th Reunion and asked me to scan her grad photo to make a badge for her, so I did both parents and thought I’d post this, cuz my blog isn’t all about art, ya know. It’s funny, but my mother’s reunion is a conglomeration of a few grad years going in one night. Maybe, it’s due to the fact that their class was small and not enough people to make it worth going to! Now they will have food and Big Band entertainment! LOOK OUT EVERYONE!…my mom’s a great dancer! She will be kicking her heals high and shaking her booty! In my younger years, when music played in our home and my mother was nearby, you couldn’t walk past her without her grabbing your arm to do the jitterbug with her..yelling, “No! Mom! NO!” When the music kicks in, so does my mom!

Scott and I went on a Carribean Cruise, last March, and we had a wonderful, talented cruise director, named Nick Weir, (he’s from Australia). Of course, I drew caricature aboard the cruise line. Anyway, Nick ran from my camera, as I tried to take a photo of him, so I could draw his cartoon. He claimed he did NOT want a caricature, that he hates those things! He was very comical on the way he ran from my camera, too. At a later time, I was asked to draw the captain, from a photo, and lo-and-behold…there was Nick in the photo, with the captain. So…me being sneaky as I am,drew a Cartoon for Nick and sent it to his cabin. Later, he called my cabin and said, “He was VERY Surprised by it and absolutely LOVED it! He said he always witnessed caricatures being ugly…yadayadayada…and was afraid to ever get his done! A few weeks later, when I returned home, he emailed me and asked if I could draw the “same cartoon I did of him,” into one of my digital designs. Well….Here it is!!!! Nick was overjoyed with my finishing touch and wants to use it for his website, tinyurl.com/g74bd I cerainly don’t mind that he uses this for business, cuz I really like this guy (he’s tall and handsome, but…I’m married ’snaps fingers’ Dang it!)BUT he will sell my cartoon work for sure!!! (Like I need the work! Doh! What I do?)LOL!!!!

I designed this musketeer one last year! Digital finish in Photoshop! Now that I look at this, I could have done more to it, than to make the faces look so paper cuttish!

This one was a client who wanted 9 groomsmen drawn so he could hand them as gifts at wedding rehearsal! NOW, I have another order of 10 for a pool party and these are NOT cheap! It’s funny how important a cartoon can be to some!

I did this last year for a friend/co-worker at my office. He went part-time to college for engineering, (he was a draftsman) then he left for an engineering job. Don’t blame him! He’s a smart dude! I made a mouse pad gift out of this cartoon I created for him, and gave it to him, before he left!
